August Edition of Letters to our Sons

Dear Will,

Wow, 5th grade!  It’s your last year of Elementary school and I’m stunned.  Where did the time go, my sweet boy?!  You are in Mrs. Brown’s class and seemed pretty pleased so far.

You always amaze me…from the activities you continue to perfect to your very grown up vocabulary and adult-like questions.  You are a little sponge and watch the most amazing shows and documentaries.  One of your current favorites is “Extreme Engineering” about large scale construction projects (it is actually very interesting – haha).  Your analytical skills and drive will take you a long way!

You ended your summer with a bang!  You went skateboard & bike camp for a week and then had another week filled with Frisco Fun Club adventures.  You continue to love going to Woodward at Copper as well and might even be getting ready for ski season.

You turned 10 this month.  10, TEN, 1-0, the BIG one O, the Double Digit Midget.  We had super fun party for you at the Frisco Adventure Park where several friends came and skateboarded and biked with you.

I’m sure that this year will bring you many adventures and fun and I can’t wait to see what is in store!

I love you Kiddo! Love, Jojo

Dear Matthew,

This month was nice and warm although there is definitely a night-time chill in the air.  Our summers are so short and fall is on it’s way so we have been playing outside as much as we can despite the wet and rainy afternoons.  Our latest favorite Saturday activity is visiting Nicky at Keystone’s Kidtopia.  There’s so much to do and you love the little bounce house!

You continue to learn new words every day and have been forming more and more sentences.  It is always so fun to see you learn and want to be just like the “big people”.

I recently switched jobs, but you continue to spend Thursdays with Grandma and Grandpa.  You have formed a special little bond with “bee-ba” and enjoy going to their house for the day.  I think its wonderful and wish that the “big kids” could have spent more time with Grandma and Grandpa when they were little.  I have the most amazing memories of time with my grandparents and wish that you all do too.

Please stop growing up so quickly!  I love you my little Matty-G. Love, Mommy

August Edition of Letters to our Daughters

Dear Nicky,

This month just flew by, as usual.  I can’t believe that you started school on the 19th as it just felt too soon (your Junior year – woah!). Prior to school you buckled down and worked very hard on your AP History summer assignment, once you realized that you had one!  haha.  I am very proud of you and what you chose to do with your time this summer – you are realizing the benefit of hard work.

We also had a great day “school shopping” in Denver after your treatment one day.  I came home and told Dad that we had so much fun.  It was really great to spend some “girl time” with you and you found some really cute clothes so the mission was a success!

Now that Rugby has started you’re busier than ever and seem quite happy and content.  I’m excited to see what adventures this year brings for you!

I can’t wait to take you out with your friends this fall to let me attempt some portrait sessions!  I hardly have photos of you since you’re so busy, but we’ll make an effort to change that.

I love you!  XOXO, Jojo
